Trinity Supper Club

The Supper Club at Trinity United Methodist Church provides a hot meal to homeless and low-income persons in a warm, caring atmosphere. About 100-125 meals are served each evening, six days a week. On the third Friday of each month, First Church members serve the supper. Volunteer work begins mid afternoon and is finished by 7:30 pm. Members and friends are encouraged to help as their schedule allows, even if they aren’t available until later in the day. Maple Grove United Methodist Church serves one meal every 4 months. 

How Can I Help?

Members of Maple Grove who wish to volunteer for this ministry are encouraged to contact Stephanie Watson to be put on the Trinity schedule.  Volunteers sign up for the month they wish to host.  Hosts will plan the menu, recruit volunteers, recruit food donations from other members, serve the meal and clean up after.  The UMW will provide the host with $75 dollars for purchasing food.  Our Trinity schedule is listed below.  

Information for Volunteers:



Plan to arrive: 4:00 p.m. It will take 4-6 volunteers to set-up, serve and clean-up depending on your menu.
 
Volunteers sign in:  Please make yourself a name tag then sign-in on the laptop by the dish washer. Type your name on the electronic group sign-in sheet on affiliated group tab.   Record the menu, cost of the meal, # of volunteers and # of people served in the binder next to the computer.
 
Serving begins: 4:45 p.m. Supper Club staff person will give directions about portion size and serving.
 
Serving ends: 5:30 p.m. Seconds are not a requirement, if available guests may opt for take home containers
 
Clean-up begins promptly: 5:30 through 6:15 p.m. (sweeping, wiping tables and chairs, cleaning counters, and gathering pans)       
 
Meal Request & Expectations
Fruits, vegetables and desserts are important considerations while planning your menu along with serving sizes. Please note, if offering a dish that contains pork or pork products another choice of entrée is appreciated in consideration of those who do not eat pork.
 
We ask your group to provide a healthy menu of your choice using this guideline:
  • 1 main dish – protein source
  • 1 or more side dishes – vegetables and fruits
  • 1 starch or carbohydrate
  • Optional -  Dessert
