Worship is the primary expectation of God from all of his creations especially the people called Christians. Worship is our way of expressing our gratitude for the many blessings that God has given us. Worship is a voluntary act and must not be done out of obligation but out of love and joy – knowing that we are what we are because of God.
In worship, it is the purity of our hearts and intentions that really counts. There was a story about a man who was cleaning the cross on top of a church. While he was cleaning the cross, someone down below shouted, “You don’t have to make that cross so beautiful. No one will see it down here.” The man responded, “I know but God will.” Nothing is added to God when we worship except that we make him happy. But so much is given to us in terms of blessings and grace, when we worship the Lord in spirit and in truth
